🎄 Festive Fun for Little Ones This Christmas in Rutland & Lincolnshire
Christmas is creeping closer (how fast has this year gone?!), and there are so many lovely little festive things happening locally that are perfect for babies and toddlers. I’ve put together a few favourites that I think our little ones, and you parents will really enjoy.
⭐ Rutland Farm Park (Oakham)
Rutland Farm Park always do Christmas really nicely without it feeling too busy or overwhelming for tiny ones.
This year they’ve got things like:
• Breakfast with the Grinch (I’ve heard he’s friendly!)
• Santa Afternoon Tea on a couple of Saturdays
• A cute Night Light Walk around the farm with hot chocolate
• And a Christmas Eve craft session which looks adorable
⭐ Lincolnshire Wildlife Park
Just over the border and such a good one for toddlers.
They’ve got:
• A twinkly Enchanted Forest walk and Santa’s grotto
• Elf HQ with colouring, crafts and story time
• Special Mini Mondays which are quieter sessions for under-5s
• And even Brunch with Santa on Christmas Eve
Ideal for sensory-loving little ones who enjoy lights and gentle Christmassy vibes.
⭐ Rand Farm Park – The Real Christmas Experience
This one feels like stepping into a Christmas storybook!
There’s an elf-led walk through “Merryjingle”, biscuit decorating with Mrs Claus, marshmallow toasting, and you can even make your own teddy.
So many hands-on bits that toddlers usually love. This one sounds amazing!!
⭐ Local Christmas Markets & Light Trails
A few nice, easy-going local outings:
• Oakham Christmas Fair at the Castle (great atmosphere, not too big)
• Burghley Christmas Fair if you fancy a bigger day out
• Belton House Christmas Lights — lovely for pram walks or cuddled-up sling strolls! This is a family favourite, we loved it last year!
⭐ Doddington Hall – Fairytale Christmas
Beautifully decorated rooms and a gentle festive trail — great if you prefer something a bit calmer indoors. Really lovely for toddlers who enjoy looking around at bright colours and cosy displays.
🌟 A Few Handy Tips
• These places book up quickly, so it’s worth grabbing tickets early.
• Try to go at quieter times if you can!
• Layers, blankets, and of course snacks!
• If none of these suit, then there’s plenty of at home Christmassy activities you can do, that’ll get them into the Christmas magic! 🪄 🧑🎄
Please share any family photos with us if you choose to do anything magical this Christmas, we love to see what our families are up to! 🩷
