Our First Two Weeks in The Cabin! ☁️
We are so excited to share a little update about our first two weeks in The Cabin. It has been such a special time for both the children and the team as we settled into our new environment, created memories together, and enjoyed the arrival of spring.
🌿 Week One — Settling Into Our New Space
Our first week focused on helping the children feel happy, confident, and secure in their new surroundings. Moving into a new environment is a big change, so we took things slowly, allowing plenty of time for exploration, curiosity, and reassurance.
The children enjoyed discovering all the new areas of the cabin — choosing favourite corners, exploring new resources, and helping to make the space truly feel like their nursery. Watching their confidence grow day by day was wonderful to see.
One of our favourite activities during the week was working together on a large canvas. Throughout the week, each child contributed in their own creative way — painting, mark making, and expressing themselves freely. The finished artwork now proudly hangs in the cabin, a beautiful reminder that this new space belongs to all of us.
☀️ Week Two — New Beginnings
Week two brought even more excitement as we welcomed Sophie, our new Wonderland Nursery assistant, to the team. Sophie has already settled in beautifully, forming lovely bonds with the children and becoming part of our nursery family.
We were also delighted to welcome a new starter to the setting. The children showed such kindness and inclusivity, helping our newest friend feel safe, supported, and involved from day one. It has been heartwarming to watch new friendships begin to blossom.
The arrival of the lovely spring sunshine meant we could make the most of outdoor learning and fresh air. We celebrated a very special first birthday, filled with smiles, singing, and a homemade birthday cake, a truly memorable experience together.
With Easter approaching, the children enjoyed a range of seasonal activities including creative crafts, sensory play, and themed exploration. These experiences encouraged imagination, fine motor skills, and lots of laughter along the way.
To finish the week, we wrapped up warm and enjoyed a gentle walk around the village. The children loved a little Easter egg hunt at the park and a walk to the village shop to buy ingredients to make the birthday cake! These walks provide wonderful opportunities for conversation, learning about the world, and developing confidence within our community.
💛 Looking Ahead
These first two weeks have been filled with adjustment, growth, celebration, and connection. The Cabin has already become a warm, nurturing space where children feel safe to explore, learn, and simply be themselves.
We are so proud of how well everyone has adapted and cannot wait to continue creating magical moments, learning experiences, and happy memories together in our new nursery home.
Thank you to all our families for your continued support as we begin this exciting new chapter.
